Papaya Thai in South Norwalk is Fairfield County's newest hot spot! An exotic and lush atmosphere transports you into a jungle oasis, complete with palm trees, wood carvings and tropical thatched huts.
An eatery on the cutting edge of Thai cuisine, the buzz around Papaya Thai is largely due to it's unique BBQ bar. Set up in a similar manner to a sushi bar, customers can sit on counter seats that face the chef and watch them work their magic. From marinated meats, seafood and fresh vegetables, to ginkgo nuts and pineapple, see it all masterfully grilled on wooden skewers right before your eyes! Papaya Thai is truly a delicious and entertaining dining experience!

One of my favorite restaurants. I eat Papaya Thai upwards of once a week, and it never fails to satisfy.

The food was amazing! It got here quickly and was delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the veggies were crisp. I wasn't sure what to expect from the spicy tuna roll, but I haven't had anything that good in a long time. Can't wait to order from here again...

The food is terrible. First off, I know that most Asian restaurants here in Westport are Pan-asian ("We do everything asian."), but MAN is this food TERRIBLE!! Now to the specifics. I ordered: Hot n Sour Soup ( I always get this, because this is my personal favorite chinese soup. I use it to taste test a restaurant) and Panang Curry (beef). Pretty standard stuff in my opinion. Here is what I discovered when the food arrived: The curry is as sloppy and light as soup. That is not curry. I also read in the description that this curry is supposed to be spicy, NOT spicy at all. The flavor is not infused in the beef like it should have been, which is probably just the way they cooked the beef. I suspected that they added the beef in at the last step and stirred it with the curry, not how you should make good curry. The soup was also crap. Hot and Sour soup is made using dark chinese rice vinegar, not white vinegar that you find in your normal grocery store. This is a big miss. The veggies included in the soup is not anywhere near what you are supposed to put in the soup. Basically after spending $25, I got nothing but bad food and terrible taste in my mouth. I am still hungry, because I didn't eat my food, and I ended up eating a tuna sandwitch. I don't expect it to be great, but then again I didn't pay $25 for it.
